“Through Choices, a Young Mind can Reach Self-Actualization”
Mission Statement
Choices Home provides a caring environment that conveys respect, integrity and the ability to make choices for oneself. As a team, we deliver a positive living experience that encourages our clients to make the best possible choices for their daily lives.
Program Summary
River’s Edge and Crossroads Treatment Center are located in Rocky Mountain House, in central Alberta. These houses offer a supportive, fun environment were youth can develop skills, responsibility and make healthy choices to succeed in life.
Our philosophy is to “create opportunities for youth to enhance positive development”. Our model is base on a House-Parent approach which builds rapport by demonstrating respect, honesty and integrity in a day to day relationship with our youth.
This House-Parent model provides a most natural environment to create opportunities for successful treatment. The house parent lives with the youth in the same house and shares with them the daily life event of the youth. Is in this close environment where the teaching and treatment occurs. This House-Parent Model also has a well developed Recreation Activity Program which includes physical activities and cultural outings.
River’s Edge and Crossroads includes a variety of professional human resources such as therapists, teachers, counsellors, aboriginal resources and youth workers that will help and support our youth on their quest to success in life. Moreover, River’s Edge and Crossroads provide an on-site school and all the links to community resources such as AADAC, Library, Metis Link and Mental Health Programs.
